We are better together

IBC offers many ministries for the men and women of our church. Currently, there are small groups, Bible studies, and gatherings for our men (“Iron Sharpens Iron” men’s study, a Winter Retreat, and occasional breakfasts), our women (various bible studies, “Mom-to- Mom” group, our “Ladies Missionary Fellowship”, and a Fall Retreat), and events for our seniors (including monthly Sunday meals and seasonal luncheons with special speakers). Colossians 1:28 encourages the ministries of our adults: “And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present each man complete in Christ”.
At IBC, we are determined to win our communities over to Christ. He is the hope of all nations, and the church is his light for the world to see. To that end, we are working on building personal relationships with those who live in Towanda and the many small towns that make up Bradford County. We also initiate many outreach events that communicate our desire to reach people for Christ. Check out some of our most recent events on our Facebook page!

We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord. It is our goal to provide a safe, caring and positive experience for your child so that you may participate freely in Bible study and worship here at IBC. The ministry leaders and volunteers desire to make every effort to ensure that our interaction with your child brings glory to God, and we are glad to offer this service to you and your family.
IBC has adopted an abuse-prevention policy that is available upon request. This policy requires all childcare workers be thoroughly reviewed and trained by the church to serve in this ministry setting. All workers have also had PA Child Abuse and Criminal Background Clearances.
IBC has designed an elementary Bible curriculum to teach God’s Word to students in grades 1-6. We also provide games, crafts, and refreshments to give the students a full night of discovery and fun. We meet Wednesday nights throughout the school year. and invite you to check us out.
Psalm 78:4 – “We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come to the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.”
Centuries ago, John wrote this statement: “ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 4, NIV) We feel the same way about our teens! As we receive them into our youth group, our hope and goal is that they will leave as mature Christian adults.

Our primary time to gather is on Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:00). We love to hang out, enjoy our café, play games together, pray with one another, and learn of the riches found in the Bible.

We also engage in several activities throughout the year. Some challenge us to consider the gospel for the first time; some call upon us to serve others as well as our community; some are just for pure fun as we watch teen friendships grow in a spiritual environment.

IBC has a youth pastor because we are serious about reaching teens! We would LOVE to see your teen become a part of our ministry. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

The Bible teaches the church that we need to be “speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:19). We have strived to embrace this teaching at IBC. To that end, you will find that we a blended style of music that places its primary focus upon the words that we sing. Our body of believers has grown together in singing songs of the past and present. We have also been blessed by many who encourage us with their voices and instruments.

God has graciously allowed us the ability to use the gift of music inside and outside our building. Our choir routinely sings for our Easter and Christmas ministries – we consider this a significant outreach in introducing our guests to our church. Our vocal ensemble (“Anchored”) has been given many opportunities to sing at events around our community and county. This group strives to share the story of salvation with as many people as we can.

Music is meant to shape and transform lives. What a gift from God! If you have any questions about the music ministry here, please feel free to contact us!

IBC has a strong commitment to supporting missionaries all over the world. The Bible teaches us to
reach those who are both near and far, so to that end, we have missionaries both in the States and in
most continents around the world. A majority of our missionaries go through the agencies of Baptist
Mid-Missions (BMM), Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE), and Continental Baptist
Missions (CBM). Our goal is to grow in our love for the lost, and we will continue to send out those who
seek to do the same with their lives.
